College should be the best part in any educated persons life and it is always a memory to be cherished.When we are in college every day seem to be a new day and life is so colorful and exciting. Every student tries to be in their best outfit try to do well in cultural and also in the grades. We keep bubbling with enthusiasm and our energy levels are so high we try to play pranks on any given opportunity. I believe colleges should be a place to bring out all the dreams of a student into reality.It is a place to shape ones attitude which will eventually decide upon their altitude.It is a place to make the students try out or experiment.Colleges should be more a platform for a student to develop,practice what they are going to perform in their lives. But today colleges are running out of ideas . The most hilarious circular which i happened to come across is that students henceforth is not allowed to use mobile phones in the campus and they are not allowed to wear Jeans. An 18 year old can vote,marry,give birth to a child but cant wear a jean or carry a mobile phone . Are we going back to the stone age. Undoubtedly students get distracted through mobile phones and the crime through mobile phone is on the increase...But the issue is prohibiting mobile phones in campus is not going to solve the issue.It is said that students get distracted with messaging - if it is while lecturing hours, i fully agree. It is illogical to stop students from using mobile phones in the campus.If some one is found misusing it -they should be punished.It is time for us to think of solutions than to create problems. Saying NO to jeans is again ridiculous. I always tell my students don't just wear a dress, wear an attitude.People wear dresses for their comfort and if it is truly glaring fine.But a blanket ban on jeans need to be reconsidered.After all with this regimental approach still students use mobiles and walk around in jeans.So, why A RULE for the sake of a RULE.Let us be clear when we interact with the GEN NEXT. Let us say NO TO DRUGS,SMOKING,ALCOHOL. The administrators need to think sensibly b4 coming out with rules.Issues need to be presented properly to get resolved and let us try to be realistic.Lets condition their behaviour not their thinking and their space.

EAT..DRINK...BREATHE...ONLY CRICKET

The biggest entertainment of India for this year is CRICKET.The men in blue at the Caribbean islands will be the cynosure of all eyes. ( Its time for Politicians and movie makers to relax).Every one in this country for the next 45 days will be chewing just cricket. Brands,advertisers and marketers will be crushing their brains to be associated with world cup. Ambush marketing it is called as is the order of the day. Brands from cola to car to razor to televisions to insurance to sim cards to chocolates to tyres and of course all of us will be part of this event for the next seven weeks. Its time ... these architects behind Brands make the brand move away from the clutter and try to present them creatively to seek the attention and the wallet of the consumer. Ambush marketing is very effective if the strategy is effective. This world cup will make more Indian households to move towards Tata Sky (the active sport feature is very interesting) and Plasma Tv. I predict these two brands will maximize their sales followed by the travel and tourism industry which will spin off with more Indians travelling towards Caribbean islands to enjoy the, Beaches, Bear,Black and of course cricket.Am i too optimistic !!!! (seven weeks if we should chew cricket then India should be there in the last four -right?!). I bet - the one that is to win the world cup is !!!!!!!!!! why break the suspense(huh), the blue eyed boys -are the Indians and the South Africans. But like the billions of us i will be worshiping cricket and the win for India,bcoz here '' Cricket is a religion''. I am surprised why the govt of India still holds Hockey as our national game. Its time we call a spade a spade.(oh,lemme save that concept for my next blog).Come on folks lets Cheer TEAM INDIA since this is the best team of the World cup and the best ever team from India to the world cup.
